Sirius Aviation Teams Up with BMW, Sauber Group for Hydrogen-Powered Jet Launch

Sirius Aviation is collaborating with BMW's Designworks and the Sauber Group to unveil Sirius Jet, a hydrogen-powered vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. The zero-emission jet combines the aerodynamics of a jet and the versatility of airplanes and helicopters. The device, powered by a hydrogen-electric ducted fan propulsion system, has a range of 1,150 miles, a speed of 323mph, and can reach 30,000ft. It can carry five passengers, and features an airframe parachute system. Partners such as Alfleth Engineering, ALD Group, and Leonardo Aerostructures have joined the project.

SIRIUS AVIATION TO UNVEIL HYDROGEN-POWERED BUSINESS JET
Sirius Aviation is set to unveil Sirius Jet, a hydrogen-powered VTOL aircraft, designed and crafted in collaboration with BMW’s Designworks and the Sauber Group.

Sirius Jet is a fully electric, zero-emissions, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft designed to blend the aerodynamics of a jet with the versatility of airplanes and helicopters. Powered by a hydrogen-electric ducted fan propulsion system, the business jet’s range is 1,150 miles (1,850km), and it will provide transportation for up to five passengers. It will have a flight speed of 323mph, and the ability to reach altitudes of 30,000ft. Other key features include an airframe parachute system.

Sirius Aviation has announced partnerships with various companies involved in the upcoming project, including BMW Group’s DesignWorks, shaping the design, along with Sauber Group, recognised for its Formula 1 expertise focusing on the speed and precision for optimal performance. Alfleth Engineering, ALD Group, and Leonardo Aerostructures will also play key roles in the development of the Sirius Jet.

In January 2024, Sirius Aviation will host an event in Switzerland for the unveiling and inaugural ignition of Sirius Jet’s hydrogen-electric ducted fan propulsion system. The event will feature remarks from key representatives and showcase the features and technologies of the propulsion system.
