Robinson Set to Deliver 5,000th R44 Raven II

Robinson Helicopter Company is set to deliver its 5,000th R44 Raven II, marking a major production milestone for the light piston helicopter. Certified in 1990 with first deliveries in 1993, the R44 has become one of the world’s most widely operated civil rotorcraft, flying in more than 100 countries. Known for simple design, low direct operating costs and dependable performance, it’s used for flight training, aerial tours, agricultural work, news gathering, utility missions and private travel. The R44 lineup includes Raven I/II, Clipper I/II and the Cadet, plus a new rugged Utility Interior option.

Robinson certified the R44 in 1990 and delivered the first R44 in 1993. Since then, the model has grown into one of the best-selling helicopters ever made with owners and operators in more than 100 countries flying it today. The R44 comes in multiple variants, including the Raven I, Clipper I, the Cadet for training and the Raven II and its counterpart the Clipper II. Robinson recently unveiled a new Utility Interior available on all R44s, with easy to clean seat fabrics and replacing the carpet and headliner with a more ruggedized materials for tough missions.
