Every pilot remembers the first time the wheels left the ground and the horizon opened up. AIRspirit exists to protect that moment, and to help more people find their way to it.
We are an independent platform for general aviation. We help people discover flying, find the flight schools, airfields and operators they can trust, and stay close to what is happening across the GA world.
We are pilots. We have sat in the right-hand seat of a Cessna on a grey Tuesday wondering whether we would ever get the landing right. We have planned a flight for three weeks and cancelled it for weather on the morning. We have flown into a small field somewhere in Europe, been handed a coffee by a man in a hangar who has been fixing aeroplanes since before we were born, and left three hours later knowing something we did not know when we landed.
That is general aviation. It is not glamorous. It is early mornings, careful checks, patience with the weather, and the extraordinary privilege of seeing your own country from two thousand feet.
It is also unnecessarily hard to get into.
If you want to learn to fly, nobody tells you where to start. You find a school because it happens to be nearby. You cannot compare it to the one two hundred kilometres away, because there is nothing to compare with. Prices are quoted differently everywhere. Half the information you find online was last updated years ago.
If you already fly, it is not much better. Planning into an unfamiliar field means piecing together fragments from forums, outdated club pages and someone’s phone number that may not work anymore. Finding maintenance abroad is largely a matter of asking around and hoping.
The airlines solved this decades ago. The rest of aviation never did. We got tired of waiting for someone else to fix it.
Aircraft, engines, avionics, regulation, training, and the people behind it. Written for pilots and owners, in plain language, without the trade-press distance.
Airfields, flight schools, maintenance shops and aviation businesses across the world, with the practical detail you actually want before you pick up the phone or plan an approach.
Licences, training pathways, real timelines and honest costs, for the person who has looked up at a small aircraft and wondered how you get from here to there. Especially for them.
Aviation runs on trust. You trust the mechanic who signed off the work. You trust the instructor who says you are ready. You trust the pilot who tells you the crosswind at that field is worse than the numbers suggest.
We are building AIRspirit the same way.
Directory entries are built from information we can verify, and corrected the moment an operator tells us we have it wrong. Reviews come from people with a real connection to the business they are writing about. We do not delete negative reviews on request, and nobody can buy their way up the list.
We would rather list fewer places we can stand behind than more we cannot. That is a slower way to build, and it is the only one worth doing.
The student pilot choosing where to train. The licensed pilot planning a trip and wondering who to fly with. The owner hunting for maintenance in a country they have never landed in. The aero club that deserves to be found. And the person who has never flown at all, but keeps looking up.
If you are in that last group, you are the reason this exists.
AIRspirit is independent and self-funded, built by people who fly, run from Europe and used worldwide.
We are small on purpose. It keeps us fast, and it keeps us free to say what we actually think about the industry we cover.
The sky belongs to all of us. We are just making it easier to find your way into it.
Yes. News, the map, listings and events are free and require no account. Most learning material is free; some in-depth content is paid, and it is always marked as such before you start.
No. We are not a broker or a dealer, and we take no commission. Members can list aircraft, parts and equipment for sale, and buyers deal with sellers directly.
From operators themselves, from public aviation records, and from the pilots who use them. Any business can claim and correct its own entry.
No. Advertising is clearly marked and kept separate from directory results.
