CubCrafters' Carbon Cub UL Revolutionizes LSA Backcountry Aircrafts

Last year, CubCrafters launched the Carbon Cub UL at Sun n' Fun, redesigning the domestic LSA backcountry aircraft and expanding its international sales. Developed with BRP-Rotax, the aircraft carries the newly turbocharged 916 iS engine, offering enhanced power and advanced technology. The UL outperforms its predecessor with improved agility, better cooling, and runs on avgas or mogas. Structurally completed, the aircraft's light weight allows for carrying pilot, passenger, and fuel under the 1320 lbs. Light Sport limit and complies with 600 KG Ultralight criteria abroad. It may alternatively be built to a 1865 lb. MTOW through the Builder Assist program. Slated for serial production in 2025, preorders already outpace all previous CubCrafters aircraft. Multiple demo units will soon be available for test flights.

To our valued Media Partners,

A year ago at Sun n' Fun, CubCrafters introduced the Carbon Cub UL, an
aircraft designed to both reimagine the domestic LSA backcountry aircraft in
the US and increase our international sales footprint. CubCrafters
collaborated with BRP-Rotax to launch their new turbocharged 916 iS engine
on the UL, which is the most powerful and technologically advanced light
aircraft engine Rotax offers. The combination is everything we had hoped for
and more. The aircraft is lighter and stronger than the original Carbon Cub,
it remains amazingly nimble and incredibly fun to fly, it has stunning
performance in takeoff, climb and cruise, it cools well, and it can run on
either avgas or mogas.

The structural and powerplant integration work is done. Configured as an LSA
with an empty weight well below 900 lbs., the Carbon Cub UL can reasonably
haul pilot, passenger, fuel and baggage, while remaining below the current
Light Sport category limit of 1320 lbs. This also allows the aircraft to
meet the 600 KG Ultralight category requirements in Europe, South America,
and elsewhere. If that's not exciting enough, the aircraft can alternatively
be built as an EAB through CubCrafters Builder Assist program with an 1865
lb. MTOW, an option which allows the aircraft's useful load to exceed its
own empty weight.

The aircraft will enter serial production in 2025, and preorders are already
better than for any other aircraft CubCrafters has produced. As we complete
final development, we always like to put real-world pilots and customers in
the aircraft and get their input to refine the aircraft even further before
the design is locked ahead of production. That means we're putting multiple
demo aircraft in the field, both in Europe and the US, and the aviation
public and press can now experience this new aircraft themselves in person.
We will be at Sun n' Fun and AERO Friedrichshafen in April with the first
two aircraft, and then we will have several more in service before Oshkosh.

We invite both the pilot community and the aviation press to participate in
our Carbon Cub UL market survey development phase. We would appreciate any
coverage your organization has to offer announcing that the UL market survey
effort has begun.

Media requests to fly one of the Carbon Cub UL demo aircraft should come
directly to me, I'm happy to coordinate access.

Sincerely,
