Onwards and upwards: Â Aerobility offers unique homebuilt Zenair for sale
Aerobility, the UK based aviation charity offering disabled people, the opportunity to fly and participate in aviation-based activities, is pleased to offer its unique, homebuilt, light sport utility Zenair CH-750 STOL aircraft for sale.
Built to a very high standard (acknowledged by LAA inspectors) its all-metal construction offers great short field take-off and landing (STOL) performance, side by side seating, great visibility, good luggage space and a useful load of 215.5kg (MTOW 600kg).
Launched in 2018, the charityâs project to build the two-seat Zenair CH-750 STOL aircraft, registration G-ICAN was an ambitious one â to build an aircraft from the ground up that was suitable for use by disabled people of all abilities, regardless of their impairment. With a team of determined disabled and able-bodied volunteers, and generous donations by project sponsors, the modified Zenair CH750 was finally completed in the summer of 2024, after many hours of diligence and hard graft.
âThe project build process in itself offered a great opportunity for all those involved to learn new skillsâ said Mike Miller-Smith MBE, CEO at Aerobility.
âThe project was fully inclusive and the build process was optimised using adjustable height benches and specialist workshop tools in order to ensure that anyone, regardless of ability could get involvedâ.
Since completion, the aircraft has been used by Aerobilityâs licensed disabled flyers for general aviation practice as well as by new and current flyers for therapeutic flying experiences.
However, with other aircraft able to more comprehensively provide for the many diverse needs of Aerobilityâs beneficiaries, and with funding required for exciting new projects, the Zenair is now up for sale.
Additional features of the aircraft include state of the art avionics, utilising a package of Garmin equipment - G3X, radio and transponder with MCL standby instruments giving the very best situational awareness.
The airframe, engine, and propeller all have only 12 hours total running time (as of 1st March 2025) and the Permit to Fly is valid until 30th September 2025. Originally equipped with modifications for disabled flyers, these have now been removed but can be re-installed if required.
